We're excited to unveil the latest addition to our innovative portfolio of commercial vehicle solutions - the Ford Transit Drop & Go® Traffic Management Vehicle. Building on the unrivalled success of the original Drop & Go® Traffic Management Vehicle, which has set the industry standard for low-floor traffic management solutions since 2014, this new variant is crafted on Ford’s Skeletal low-floor chassis, taking performance and functionality to the next level.</span>

We've optimised the payload capacity, enhanced loading and unloading efficiency, and significantly increased the vehicle’s versatility - all hallmarks of AKFS’s commitment to excellence. Despite its compact dimensions, this vehicle is packed with all the features that have made the original Drop & Go® TMV a top choice among traffic management professionals. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The low floor bed height makes equipment loading and unloading seamless, while the user-friendly assisted tailgate simplifies the handling of wheeled traffic light systems, ensuring quick and stress-free operation. Safety is paramount, and our advanced fall arrest system offers unparalleled protection for operators, alongside a class-leading payload capacity that allows for more equipment to be carried than ever before, greatly improving on-site efficiency.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">At AKFS, we blend cutting-edge design with practical functionality, ensuring your traffic management teams can work safely and efficiently, even in the most demanding of environments. The vehicle’s body is meticulously designed with an internal width of 1960mm, an external width of 2170mm, and a protection rail system with an external width of 2210mm. It also features a closed deck flatbed with an external body length of 4100mm as standard. Built on the robust Ford Transit L4 Skeletal Chassis, it is powered by a 2.0L Ford EcoBlue 130PS FWD engine and comes complete with a manual gearbox.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The vehicle is available with either a single or double passenger seat, and it comes equipped with modern technology throughout, including a DAB Radio with Bluetooth, MP3/USB/Aux, as well as essential safety features such as a driver’s airbag, ESP, and Hill Launch Assist. </span>

We use the Drop & Go® vehicles to deploy traffic management, and the reduced body
height has greatly helped with manual handling and team safety. Manual handling is always
at the forefront of our team briefs due to the nature of our work, and the Drop & Go® has
helped reduce risk when unloading.
The rear ramp and reduced body height work well together, helping reduce manual handling
during unloading. On the reactive contract I currently manage, the ability to use these
vehicles across different tasks has been a real benefit.
Not having tail lifts has also been useful, as LOLER testing is not required for a tail lift. It also
reduces weight on the rear axle, helping to save costs on testing and related parts.
